FAREWELL CHRISTMAS TIDE.... HELLO SEPTUAGESIMA!
The above short video is a reflection on this rather extraordinary week in the Church's Liturgical Year. Septuagesima Tide is almost here, and we have just got into the spirit of the Epiphany! The Liturgical Colour of GREEN did not even have the time to be worn this year. This has not happened since 1913!
** The next time Septuagesima Sunday falls this early in the year will be in 2160AD!!!

How blessed is the Christmas Season, and how beautiful the music and art that Western Civilization has produced in honour of the infant King; from the hauntingly mystical Gregorian Chants, to the majestic choral works from all countries where the Faith has shone. The re-appearing Churches in these different video creations are ancestral Catholic Churches in the former Kingdom of Hungary where my ancestors had links - Baptisms, Marriages, etc. The first Church in this video is St. Anne's on the Buda side of Budapest, where my great-grandparents were married in 1898; the second, older (more battered looking) Church is Holy Cross Church, from Tata, Hungary, where my sixth-great-grandparents were married in June of 1770! It's an interesting experience wandering around these places which have not changed very much since those times.
