Our Lady of Hungary

"I never finish the Crowns". Today, April 26th, 2012, I have just received the news that in fact, not only is my Dad, who defected from Hungary after the 1956 Uprising, still an Hungarian 'citizen', but his four children are also Hungarian Citizens even though we were born in Australia! I have to apply at the Consulate for a dual passport by going through the whole formal process. This unexpected news opens up tremendous possibilities. I have seen vintage Catholic books in Hungary - in Latin, as well as beautiful church goods, etc. This will enable me to further my apostolate by being able to base myself in Europe for part of the year. So I am posting this painting of Our Lady of Hungary out of gratitude to God. I took up painting again, after a 25 year break, in late 2010. I have painted a number of icons, but always seem to leave the Crowns last and now have a small collection of unfinished paintings. However, one of them (of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel) was so well admired by an elderly friend of mine, that she bought it.
